On the 3rd of April the official press presentation of the new models of Mercedes-Benz C-class and GLA took place in the new business terminal "B" of the airport "Zhulyany". The journalists have estimated main differences of the new models from their predecessors and had an opportunity to test the unique state-of-the-art safety systems.
New generation of Mercedes-Benz C-class rightly opens a new chapter in the success story of Mercedes-Benz and sets new standards in the premium segment of middle-class cars. Due to the lightweight design that reduces car weight up to 100 kg, excellent aerodynamic performance and new, fuel-efficient engines C-class has become the new benchmark in its segment. A number of new auxiliary systems offers the highest level of safety to the customers, while the new suspension provides an exemplary level of agility, steerability and comfort when driving. As for appearance, the new C-class makes step forward combining rigorous but expressive design of exterior and upscale interior. Many other innovative solutions in the vehicle underline the exceptional level of comfort and improved sports qualities of this sedan.
C-class is the best-selling representative of Mercedes-Benz brand worldwide. Since the entry of its previous version into the market in 2007 it was sold over 2.4 million vehicles. New C-class boasts a sensual and at the same time rigorous design and offers a number of technical innovative solutions, as well as a comprehensive set of standard factory-installed equipment and exemplary low emission levels and fuel consumption.
Mercedes-Benz GLA-class is a continuation of youth-centric model range from Mercedes-Benz, so-called NGCC models. It has become the first SUV from Mercedes-Benz, for which a new generation of 4MATIC permanently active all wheel drive system with fully adjustable torque distribution is offered as an option.
All-new GLA completes an extensive range of Mercedes Benz SUVs. Now offering five classes (GLA, GLK, ML, GL and G) the Stuttgart star brand has the widest range of off-road solutions among all European premium brands, and thus meets all the individual expectations of its customers.
Extremely rigid body structure forms a solid basis for the use of a wide range of engines with different power ratings. The range of petrol engines with a displacement of 1.6L and 2.0L is characterized by a capacity of 115 kW (156 hp) in the case of GLA 200 model, reaching a value of 155 kW (211 hp) in the case of GLA 250 model.
Solid torque combined with superb efficiency differentiates both diesel units: GLA 200 CDI makes 100 kW (136 hp), has a displacement of 2.2L and delivers 300 N∙m of torque. At the same time the level of CO2 emissions is only 114 g per kilometer (provisional values). GLA 220 CDI with the same displacement of 2.2L makes 125 kW (170 hp) and 350 N∙m, respectively.
