POLAND (FSO)

FSO (Fabryka Samochodow Osobowych) is a known and authoritative motor company, whose activity is connected with the history of the Polish motor construction. It was at Zeran plant that was FSO main enterprise where such national models as Warsaw, Sirena, Fiat 125ð and Polonaise were produced. Now such popular cars as Lanos and Matiz roll off the plant assembly lines. Production capacity and modern equipment of the plant enable it to produce 250 thousand cars per year.

Since 2005 ZAZ incorporated into UkrAVTO has been the owner of the enterprise. ZAZ owns 19.9%  of shares of the Polish motor giant that entitle to 84.3 % of votes at the general meeting of the Company. Nowadays, taking into account the objective historical reasons, it is this partnership that makes further FSO existence and development possible.

Cooperation between ZAZ and FSO is developing in two directions:

  • mutual supplies of component parts for manufacturing of the models being already in demand in the market;
  • organizing of a new modern car manufacturing in cooperation with one of the leading motor concerns.

Potential

Today FSO is one of the greatest industrial enterprises in Poland having powerful production capacity and modern equipment that allows the Company to produce 250 thousand automobiles per year.

  • Modern and flexible structure of the equipment enables the Company to organize fast output of different motor-car models.
  • Transfer of manufacturing to Zeran plant requires considerably smaller capital investments and time consumption in comparison with the investments in construction of a new plant.
  • The Company’s employees are high qualified and of great experience in manufacturing and sales of cars (in 1996–2001 Daewoo-FSO introduced successfully 6 new models into the Polish market).
  • Proven quality management systems operate at the Plant.
  • Production and development costs are much lower than in the West European countries (for example, labour cost is 5–6 times less).
  • The Plant has good access to transport infrastructure (railways, highways).
  • Network of spare parts suppliers, subcontractors and providers of additional services is well developed.
  • Big network of sales and servicing outlets.
  • Proximity to the big markets of the European Union and post-Soviet countries.

But FSO is not only Zeran Plant. The business group includes also 11 manufacturing Companies of component parts for Lanos and Matiz models being produced by the Plant. Great attention is paid to support of kind mutual relations with several hundreds of suppliers. In FSO there is a verified evaluation system for suppliers as well as modern logistical systems.
